How group captive works

Under India's captive rules a consumer, or a group of consumers, holds at least 26% of the equity in the generating company and consumes at least 51% of its output. In return the power is exempt from cross-subsidy and additional surcharges, which usually makes it cheaper than the DISCOM tariff. Wattscape tracks who has signed such deals, with which developer, for how many MW, and the SPV that holds the plant.

Landed cost of open-access power

Compare green open-access power with your DISCOM tariff: transmission and wheeling charges, losses at your voltage, banking, and time-of-day effects, worked out for your state and connection.
